Gavin Fitzjohn

Producer, Songwriter and Multi-Instrumentalist

From humble roots touring in a punk rock band to producing and co-writing tracks on multiple no. 1 albums, Gavin works across musical genres, writing, recording and touring with acts all over the world.

Gavin’s production and songwriting credits include Paolo Nutini’s recent no. 1 album ‘Last Night In The Bittersweet’, his 6x platinum selling ‘Sunny Side Up’ and ‘Caustic Love’, Manic Street Preachers no. 1 record ‘The Ultra Vivid Lament’ and ‘Resistance is Futile’, Jordan Mackampa, Jamie Cullum, James Dean Bradfield and Gruff Rhys. As a producer Gavin often collaborates with Dani Castelar (R.E.M, Snow Patrol, Editors) working with both established artists and new talent. Based at his ‘Watertown’ studio, Gavin also composes for film and television.

Gavin is currently working as Paolo Nutin’s musical director.

In addtion to playing guitar and piano, Gavin uniquely performs on both saxophone and trumpet at the highest level, having been a vital presence both live and in the studio as a performer and arranger for Paolo NutiniStereophonics, Cirque Du Soleil, James Bay, Ghost, Imelda May, Manic Street Preachers, Gwenno, The Heavy, Gruff Rhys, Butch Walker, Dexy’s Midnight Runners, Jools Holland, John Newman, Super Furry Animals and many more. 

In 2021 Gavin released his first solo album ‘The 299 Game’ under the moniker 299 on PNKSLM Recordings.
